Getting here

Getting to Santa Cruz is pretty easy. There are a number of different options.

Private transfer

We can provide ground transfers to our hotel from anywhere in Costa Rica (4 hours from San José) or driving instructions if you wish to arrive on your own.

By bus

From San Jose, catch a bus from Terminal del Paso del la Vaca located at Av. 7-10 . Look for Autobuses Alfaro with buses to Santa Cruz every day. After a 4.5 hour ride, the bus will drop you off right in front of the hotel. If you fly in to the Juan Santa Maria International Airport, take a cab to El Paso de La Vaca bus terminal and catch the bus to Santa Cruz.

From Liberia airport, take a cab to Liberia to the Transportes la Palma Terminal. Take the bus to Santa Cruz. The bus will drop you off right in front of the hotel.

By car

If you plan on renting a car and driving, it takes about 4 hours from San Jose to get to Guanacaste. Remember that sunset here is between 5:30pm and 6:00pm and it gets dark very quickly which makes it very hard to navigate (road signs can be poor). For this and safety reasons we do not recommend driving from San Jose after dark so you should leave no later than 2 pm.
